what one private session taught me about control

I was guiding a private session as part of my somatic coaching work —
just a simple breath practice.

Nothing fancy — just inhale, exhale, feel.
And halfway through, they cried.

“I didn’t know I was holding so much,” they whispered. Neither did I.

The body doesn’t always need to be moved.
Sometimes it just needs permission to feel.

This is what space — holding means to me.
Not leading someone somewhere. But walking beside them while they remember they already know the way.

Control is loud.
Trust is quiet.

Next time you feel the urge to fix or perform — pause.
Ask: can I be with this, without changing it?
